ABC-Stühle, von Roeland Otten
ABChairs is a series of 26 typographic chairs, designed by Roeland Otten. It’s an alphabet to sit on and a series of chairs to form words with. The number of editions will vary based upon the ratio in which letters occur in the English language:
- Prototype model edition of 20: A, E, I, N, O, S, T
- Prototype model edition of 15: B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, P, R, V, W, Y
- Prototype model edition of 10: Q, U, X, Z
ABChairs’ future is one of a industrial manufacturing process, using rotational moulding of LDPE plastic. This way ABChairs will be more affordable for the mass market, lighter in weight, less fragile and suitable for outdoors use. Smaller size ABChairs would also be applicable for children’s interiors, such as libraries and schools. Limited editions of prototypes can be produced upon request.
Roeland Otten graduated at the Design Academy Eindhoven in 1999 and founded his design studio in Rotterdam one year later. He works with a ‘conceptual’ approach in different fields of media: from graphic design to new media and video, from product design to architectonic installations in public space and events.

Ich verstehe die Webseite von Herrn Otten nicht.
Kann man die jetzt irgendwo kaufen, oder nicht?
Und wenn ja – was kosten die? Eine nicht unwichtige Information wie ich finde.
Gibt es die Stühle wirklich, oder ist das eine Studie?

@#6 : Laut Website werden auf Anfrage Prototypen gefertigt. Also ist das ganze noch irgendwo zwischen Studie und Fertigprodukt.
